About the Defunct 💬

"Papagou Town. A Suburb in the northeast Athens. Founded in the wake of the Greek Civil War (1943-1949) to house the families of army officials."

30-something Aris Nikolopoulos (Michalis Sarantis), a bachelor from Glyfada, is "demobilized" at the house of the glorious grandfather Aristides in Papagou, with the espresso machine import company he leads at a dead end. The stock of espresso machines is stacked in the spider's office of the retired officer as the grandson reunites with childhood friends stuck in the suburbs of the officers but also with a former competitor of his grandfather, strangely communist. Faced with heroic ghosts of the past, the apolitical grandson will feel the need to look worthy of his name. However, the closer he gets to the legend of grandfather Aristides, the more he changes his face.
