When young writer Stingo (Peter MacNicol) moves to Brooklyn in 1947 to begin work on his first novel, nothing prepares him for the life-changing emotional journey ahead.

Forging a friendship with Polish refugee Sophie Zawistowska (Meryl Streep) and her moody lover Nathan Landau (Kevin Kline), the trio enjoy each others' company over summer time. But Stingo soon discovers a dark secret behind Sophie's smile. Learning of her Holocaust survival and the scars of her past, Stingo is intensely drawn to Sophie and all that she represents.

Based on William Styron's acclaimed novel and directed by award-winning filmmaker Alan J. Pakula, SOPHIE'S CHOICE is a haunting journey of self-discovery and reflection, where memories and romance give perspective to the past.
