• Based on a true conspiracy theory.

After failing to locate the legendary Stanley Kubrick, an unstable CIA agent must instead team up with a seedy rock band manager to develop the biggest con of all time - staging the moon landing.

What if Apollo 11 never actually made it? What if, in reality, Stanley Kubrick secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the US administration? This is the premise of a totally plausible conspiracy theory that takes us to swinging sixties London, where a stubborn CIA agent (Ron Perlman) will never find Kubrick but instead is forced to team up with Jonny's (Rupert Grint) lousy manager of a seedy rock band to develop the biggest con of all time, in this riotous, high-tempo action-comedy penned by the new British comedy genius Dean Craig.

• DIRECTOR'S NOTE

The film is an action/comedy that combines fights and stupidity. I enjoy situations where two opposite characters must join forces to accomplish a common goal as it leads to the most hilarious conflicts.

So I came up with the idea of ''MOONWALKERS'': sending a CIA agent right in the middle of swinging London to shoot a fake moon landing with a bunch of hippies that he would naturally hate. This mix instantly has great comedic potential. This world is peppered with endearingly stupid characters like ''The Big Lebowski'' and a good mix of action throughout like ''Snatch''.

MOONWALKERS is a comedy with bruises, sex, drugs... and a lot of laughs.

Google ''moon landing,'' add up the viewers interested in the conspiracy theory about it, and you'll find millions of hits. MOONWALKERS is about making fun of these people.
